Receiver Counting and Resource Allocation in Active Multicast

چکیده
The allocation of router resources among competing multicast ows is an open question. In this paper, we introduce a hierarchical multi-cast scheduling protocol in which each router independently prioritizes multicast packets based upon the number of downstream receivers interested in listening to the multicast stream. We describe our protocol design and evaluate the protocol's scalability, optimality, and security.
